New Team Members
We are grateful to the immense trust our supporters have shown MuslimARC as calls for racial justice and anti-racism training reverberate across the country. We are thrilled to announce the next stage of our journey in cultivating anti-racism leadership with the addition of our Operations Director, Kenyatta Bakeer, and Operations Assistant, Shams Hamid. These new positions will help ensure that we are responsive to the growing call for our work.
Kenyatta Bakeer has demonstrated a life-long commitment to inner-city education institutions, community-based non-profits, and the local Muslim community. As Operations Director, Kenyatta will drive MuslimARC’s day-to-day operations including bookings, membership, and administration. Kenyatta will fulfill her role with the support of Operations Assistant, Shams Hamid. Shams is dedicated to the liberation movement as seen through her work with the Work of Art Mentorship program and the YWCA Capital Area. We are delighted to have her join Kenyatta and our Executive Director Margari Hill in creating organizational infrastructure.
With these changes, MuslimARC aims to continue building our leadership team while promoting change within our communities. This Fall, we are launching our ARCompetency workshop series, our American Muslim Anti-Racism Leadership (AMAL), and reviving our membership services. Thank you for your continuing support. Together we are building bridges and bettering our communities.
Wishing you baraka, health, and safety!
