AMEL Intensive

American Muslims Educating for Liberation (AMEL)

The AMEL Intensive Fellowship program is designed to train new MuslimARC leaders.

2016 Cohort

In December 2015, eight MuslimARC Members were selected as AMEL Fellows. They were flown out to New York for an all-expenses paid leadership training and anti-racism education convening. The inaugural retreat at Stony Point in New York was held December 11th through the 13th. AMEL Fellows were trained in anti-racism material, workshop facilitation, media engagement, public speaking, and more.

In 2016, these AMEL Fellows began to join MuslimARC Directors Namira Islam and Margari Hill on MuslimARC workshops and trainings. The Fellows also provide their expertise and wisdom to further develop and refine MuslimARC’s programs.

Through AMEL, members can become officially licensed by MuslimARC to facilitate trainings and serve as public faces of the organization.
