Farha Tahir

Farha Tahir is an analyst and grantmaker based in Washington, DC specializing in governance and citizen participation in decisionmaking in sub-Saharan Africa. She currently serves as program officer at the National Endowment for Democracy, providing support to civil society organizations, democracy activists, and human rights defenders. Farha is also an adjunct fellow with the Human Rights Initiative at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), advising on matters related to civil society and governance with a special emphasis on the drivers of closing political space in Africa. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
